The problem
For years, Camera’s finance team operated in a constant state of catch-up. Every month, the team spent three full days reconciling transactions, chasing down missing receipts from employees across 12 countries, and manually correcting categorization errors. The CFO had no real-time visibility into spending—by the time the numbers were ready, they were already two weeks old, making it impossible to catch overspending before it became a problem. Internal fixes like stricter deadlines, mandatory receipt uploads, and manual review checklists all failed. The real issue wasn’t process—it was the tool.
“We were always reacting. We’d close the books and discover an overspend in a department that happened three weeks ago. There was nothing we could do about it at that point.”
James Liu, CFO, Camera
What Camera needed
Camera had three non-negotiables: (1) Multi-currency support that actually worked across 12 countries without manual conversion or reconciliation errors. (2) Custom approval chains that enforced different spending policies by region, department, and seniority level—automatically. (3) Real-time visibility so the CFO could see exactly what the company was spending at any moment, not two weeks after the fact.
The Solution
Camera rolled out Payflow across all 400 employees in under two weeks. The implementation team handled the QuickBooks and Xero integrations, and the finance team was fully live before the end of the month. Every expense was automatically captured and categorized by AI. Employees in London, Singapore, and São Paulo all submitted receipts the same way—snap a photo, forward an email, or connect a card. Payflow handled currency conversion automatically and routed each expense to the right approver based on custom policy rules. For the first time, James had a live dashboard showing exactly where every dollar was going across all 12 countries.
“The setup was surprisingly fast. I expected weeks of back-and-forth with IT. It was two weeks and we were fully live.”
James Liu, CFO, Camera

The result
Month-end close dropped from three full days to four hours. Reconciliation errors fell to zero—for the first time in the company’s history, every transaction matched, every receipt was accounted for, and every categorization was correct. The finance team saved 72 hours per month previously spent on manual reconciliation. That time was redirected toward forecasting, budget planning, and actual financial strategy. Camera has since expanded Payflow to their full finance stack as the single source of truth across every region and department.
“It’s not just that the close is faster. It’s that the numbers are right. We’re not finding errors after the fact anymore. We’re just done, and we trust the data.”
James Liu, CFO, Camera
